Why we confirm by email first
- Only you see itNobody can look up other people's addresses – the result only goes to the owner.
- Nothing is keptYour address is deleted right after the click. Without a click, the link expires after 30 minutes.
- No trackingNo cookies, no ads, no analytics. Even the bot protection runs on our own servers.
Email address leaked? Here's what to do now
A result doesn't mean someone is in your account right now. But the data is out there – these steps make it worthless.
- Change your passwordsFor the affected services and anywhere you use the same password. Attackers automatically try stolen passwords on other services.
- Turn on two-factor authenticationThen a stolen password alone is no longer enough. Most important for your email account, since it can reset all your other passwords.
- Use a password managerIt creates a unique, strong password for every account and remembers it for you.
- Be careful with emails and textsLeaked data makes phishing more convincing. Don't click links in unexpected messages that refer to one of these services.
Frequently asked questions
What is a data breach?
A data breach happens when attackers steal customer data from an online service – for example email addresses, passwords or phone numbers. This data is often sold or published.
Where does the data come from?
We query XposedOrNot, a service that collects known data breaches. We don't store any leaked data ourselves.
Why do I have to confirm my address by email?
So that nobody can look up other people's addresses. Only someone with access to the mailbox gets the result.
What does “no results” mean?
Your address doesn't appear in any known data breach. That's a good sign, but not a guarantee – not every breach becomes public.
What should I do if my email address has been leaked?
Change the passwords of the affected services and anywhere you use the same password. Turn on two-factor authentication and be especially careful with emails that claim to come from these services.
Does CN Breach Check cost anything?
No. CN Breach Check is free and requires no sign-up.
