Terms of Use

CN Breach Check is a free service for checking your own email address against known data breaches. By using it, you accept the following terms.

This is a translation for your convenience. Only the German version is legally binding.

1. Provider

The provider is Christian Noack, CN Security & Systems, Eggestr. 4a, 32758 Detmold, Germany. All details are in the imprint (German).

2. Service

CN Breach Check compares an email address with data breaches known to the data provider XposedOrNot and shows the result after confirmation by email. The service is free and requires no sign-up. There is no entitlement to permanent availability. We may change, limit or discontinue the service at any time.

3. Permitted use

You may only check email addresses that belong to you or whose owner has explicitly agreed. In particular, the following is not permitted:

In case of violations, we may block access and take legal action.

4. Meaning of the results

The results come from XposedOrNot. We give no guarantee that they are complete, correct or up to date. “No known breaches” only means that no known data breach exists, not that your data is safe. The recommendations on the result page are general advice and do not replace individual security or legal advice.

5. Liability

We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, and under the German Product Liability Act. Otherwise, we are liable for slight negligence only in case of a breach of an essential obligation whose fulfilment makes the proper use of the service possible in the first place and on whose compliance you may regularly rely. In this case, liability is limited to the foreseeable damage typical for this kind of service.

6. Links to other websites

The operators of linked third-party websites are solely responsible for their content.

7. Privacy

How we handle your data is described in the privacy policy.

8. Changes and applicable law

We may update these terms. The version published at the time of use applies. German law applies. Mandatory consumer protection provisions of your country of residence remain unaffected.
